  The pyramid of hate - that dangerous cascade that begins with stereotyping (generalisations expressed via jokes and non-inclusive language), leads to prejudice (antipathetic feelings expressed via social avoidance, ridicule, slurs, dehumanisation), and slides into discrimination and violence, and if unstopped, ends in genocide. Understanding this progression is a prerequisite to preventing that slide.
